There’s something quietly special about a styled shoot when it’s done with intention.
Not just beautiful details for the sake of them — but a shared vision, thoughtful collaboration, and a sense of story running gently through it all.
This shoot at Walton View Hotel was exactly that.
Inspired by soft romance — think Bridgerton — the palette of olive and sage green brought a grounded elegance to the day. Romantic without being overdone. Refined, but still warm and human.
Although the shoot took place indoors, the sense of occasion was unmistakable from the moment the horse-drawn carriage arrived outside. It set the tone beautifully — a quiet nod to tradition, movement, and arrival, not even the rain could spoil that.

As the celebrant for this shoot, my role wasn’t simply to stand in place.
It was to help the ceremony feel real.
Styled shoots can sometimes feel like a series of moments placed side by side. My intention here was to guide the flow so the ceremony felt cohesive, meaningful, and emotionally grounded — even within a styled setting.
I chose to incorporate a handfasting ritual, woven gently through the vows.
Handfasting is a beautiful symbolic act — one that speaks to connection, choice, and the binding together of two lives. As the couple shared their vows, the ritual allowed their words to be held physically as well as emotionally.
Rather than directing every moment, I held space for the concept to breathe. I guided the structure, supported the pacing, and allowed the vows and ritual to unfold naturally — just as I would on a real wedding day.
Because even in a styled shoot, the ceremony deserves care.

What I loved most about this collaboration was the shared understanding that the ceremony is more than a backdrop.
It’s the emotional heart.
The olive and sage tones, the soft styling, the considered details — all of it was elevated by a ceremony that felt intentional and connected. When the words are given space, everything else settles around them.
This shoot was a reminder of what’s possible when vendors come together with respect for each other’s craft — and for the meaning behind the day itself.
